Swung in short
“Swung”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs swung.app. The pattern dictionary, the genre pages, the beat maker and Unit 1 of the course are free. Some of the dictionary needs a free account. The full course needs a paid subscription.
Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 13, or the minimum age for online services where you live, and old enough to agree to these terms, or have a parent or guardian agree for you. An account is for one person. Keep access to your Google account safe: anyone who can sign in to it can use your Swung account.
Subscriptions and billing
- Plans. Monthly at $12.99 a month, or yearly at $59 a year, in US dollars, including VAT or sales tax where it applies. The price you pay is shown before you confirm.
- Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, once per person. You won’t be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. If you don’t, the first year is charged on the day the trial ends.
- Founding lifetime. While founding places last (the first 500 members), the full course is also offered for one payment of $99. Nothing renews. It covers the full course, including chapters added later, for as long as we run Swung.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. We will tell you before any price change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
- Cancelling. Cancel at any time from your account page, in a few clicks. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Refunds. If Swung isn’t for you, write to support@swung.app within 14 days of any payment, the first one or a renewal, and we will refund it in full. After that, payments for periods already started aren’t refunded, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. If a payment fails, we may pause paid access until it goes through.
What you make
Beats, loops and tracks you make on Swung are yours. A share link contains the beat itself, so anyone with the link can open it.
What we make
The lessons, text, grids, sounds, recordings and design of Swung belong to us. You may use them to learn and to make your own music, including music you release. You may not copy, resell or republish the course, or scrape the site to build a competing product.
Fair use of the site
Don’t break the law using Swung, interfere with how it works, try to get into accounts or parts of the site you shouldn’t, or share paid access. We may suspend accounts that do, and refund any unused period if we end a paid subscription for a reason that isn’t your fault.
Changes to Swung
We keep improving the course, so lessons and features change. If we stop offering the paid course, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.
Warranty and liability
We work hard to keep Swung accurate and available, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by agreement.
Ending
You can stop using Swung and ask us to delete your account at any time; see the privacy policy. Cancelling a subscription doesn’t delete your account.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top, and tell subscribers about any change that affects them before it applies.
