About Swung
Swung, at swung.app, teaches music production through named patterns: the kick on every beat, the bass in the gaps, the chord with a colour note. You hear each one, change it on a grid and collect it as a card, then build tracks from your cards.
Who makes it
Swung is made by The Swung team. Every pattern page, genre loop and lesson is written and checked by a person before it is published; see how we teach for the method and the checks.
What is on the site
The pattern dictionary and the genre pages are free reference pages, each with a loop you can play and change. The beat maker is a free tool. The course is nine chapters; the first is free.
The music
Every loop on Swung is original and made with Swung’s own synthesised sounds. No recordings, samples, melodies or lyrics of real songs are used. Where a page mentions a song, it is only to say a pattern is common there.
